The Tesla Wall Charger, or the Tesla Wall Connector, is designed to provide fast charging for Tesla vehicles at home or in commercial settings. The power output, and thus the charging speed, depends on the version of the Wall Connector and the electrical supply it’s connected to.

As of my last update in January 2022:

  • The Tesla Wall Connector (3rd generation) can provide up to 11.5 kW of power for North American installations with a 240-volt supply and a 48-amp circuit. This translates to 11,500 watts. However, the power output can vary based on the electrical installation and the vehicle’s onboard charger capabilities.
  • For European and other international installations with higher voltage (typically 400V three-phase), the Wall Connector can provide higher power levels, up to 22 kW or 22,000 watts.

It’s essential to note that while the Wall Connector can provide these power levels, the actual charging rate will also depend on the Tesla vehicle model and its onboard charger. For instance, some Tesla models come with onboard chargers that can only accept up to 11 kW, even if the Wall Connector and the electrical supply can provide more power.

Always refer to the Tesla official documentation or consult a Tesla representative or qualified electricians Denver is home to for the most accurate and up-to-date information regarding the Tesla Wall Connector’s capabilities and compatibility with specific Tesla models.
